Hello everyone,
We are happy to announce that we have got our first ever international order today. The country at which the materials are going to ship is "UGANDA". The materials like; wall Tiles, vitrified Tiles (Floor Tiles), wash-basins, commode, all bath fitting accessaries (including all types of Tabs, Floor - Trap, Nepkin Holders, Mirrors etc) will be delievered at the client's place. Actually, the client is belonging to Mumbai and he is going to make a big factory and his bunglow in Uganda.
Well, overhere, you must be thinking how we got such an order??!! Truly speaking we also didn't know that until yesterday night. Today, in the morning, when we were busy with our daily local clients, all of a sudden Mr. Harkant's (owner of the firm - my papa) one of the old business friend came to the office. Actually, he (Mr. Tapan) and my papa used to do business in the same local ceramic market before one decade. But, after certain years, Mr. Tapan left doing business and joined in one of the "Plastic Bottles Manufactring" company at Mumbai as the sales manager. As he used to be an honest and sincere employee, he became the right hand of his sheth (Boss) in shorter period of time.
The sheth who basically hails from Mumbai used to travel to Uganda often as his family lives there only. However, as he wants to expand his business to an international level, he soon wants to open the factory and the sales offices at Uganda.
Come to today's morning, as Mr. Tapan came to the office, he and my papa chat with an almost half and hour and reminded of their "GOLDEN" struggle period. Then, he told us the purpose of his coming and informed us to be prepared to serve his Sheth and make him aware about all the products including all details of them (including pricing, looking, features, comparisions etc). However, we were always prepared as we have an experience in dealing with this industry since last 27 years.
At sharp, 10:30 the "Boss" came in Mercedeces - Benz. Mr. Tapan made introduction of him with us and then the CHALLENGE started. [Because, the client wanted the materials in huge quantity and market is always open for comparision]. Well, we showed him each and every products at the best affordoble price and with the best afoordable services. [Also, we directly called up in the company to supply the vivid materials in CONTAINER with proper packing]. Finally, after 4 to 5 hours, our hardwork worked out.
Mind you, at that time there were also other clients presented at the showroom, and those bought their vivid home materieals as well. (Thanks to Krunal & Ashok).
Summary:- The Contacts and client relationship are always important while dealing in the Business. (Hadn't my papa in contact with Mr. Tapan after he left doing Business or hadn't we proper handle the client we might have lost the order).
Signing off,
Keyur Joshi
Ceramic Bazaar.
